Why not just leave them in the Recycle Bin until needed? Seems pretty
simple to do and they'll be there if a problem rears its ugly head. g It just seems that a weekly backup (after successful compacting) of all the DBX files in the message store folder to a CD, DVD, or even another folder created for the purpose on the hard drive, only takes moments to do and is cheap insurance. Good luck and thanks for the feedback. -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/pr...8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped. "Terry Haeber" Terry wrote in message ... Thanks for your reply, Jim. I wasn't suggesting or intending to use this as a substitute for backing up, rather as a known, good, and current copy (between back ups) should a problem occur during compacting. Terry |
