Default "Error Importing to Address Book"

On June 2, I posted a message, "Error Importing to Address Book." Jim
Pickering mentioned the possiblility of malware being the problem. But
I could find no evidence of that. Actually, Jim was right. Malware was
the whole problem, but it wasn't detectable. I think the reason for
this was because I didn't have SP2 and many other security updates
installed on this computer. After the mishaps I encounted with a
security update in April which totally screwed up Outllook Express, I
had removed SP2 in order to reinstall WindowsXP. But I failed to put
SP2 back in. And I was paranoid of security updates in general. (The
work I was doing in April was seriously derailed by that whole mishap.)
But, as it seems, these updates can be crucial. Apparently, you just
have to work it all through.
Anyway, I posted to the HijackThis Logs forum, and it was PA Bear who
detected that I did not have SP2 installed. That tipped me off.
Many thanks to Jim Pickering and PA Bear for being computer geniuses,
and for making themselves and all their knowledge available at no cost.
Otherwise I'd still be in the dark, and the valuable promotional work I
have been doing would be permanently hung up.
Sincerely,
Susanne Lewis

Glad to hear it's not fixed. Updates are a good thing and it's worthwhile
to have them "pushed" to you via Automatic Updates. Thanks for the
feedback.
