I like to work in detailed view and sort by modified date when looking for
files to attach. In Outlook Express 6.00.29, when I go to attach a file, it comes up list view and I click the icon to change to detail. It lists name, size and type and if I scroll right, I can get to date modified. I would like to set it the default to detail and not show file type so that date modified is right there. I know about right clicking the title bar and unchecking type, but it doesn’t keep. And I have tried “more” and changed the order of the titles and tried reducing the column width of “types” to zero. It looks like OE was made to be customized but it doesn’t even hold until the next email. There has to be a registry entry somewhere that enables these options. Can anyone help? |

That's a shared dialog and it's not unique to OE.
But there is an alternative way to insert attachments. Open a Windows File Explorer window to the desired folder. Configure it as you like. You can then drag-and-drop files from there to the message composition window. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Charlie" (donotspam) wrote in message ... Thanks, but is sure is strange that MS has all those options but it doesn't
work in OE. Also, I customized an Explorer window and it held the changes. If they are shared, why didn't that affect OE. Do you know where the change is saved. I looked for it in the registry but couldn't find it. "Michael Santovec" wrote: That's a shared dialog and it's not unique to OE. But there is an alternative way to insert attachments. The OPEN Dialog is shared with some other applications.
It works differently than a Windows File Explorer View. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Charlie" (donotspam) wrote in message ...
