I have a Gmail account, and OE seems to have a limit to the number of
messages it can handle. I have my storage in the ToolsOptionsMaintenance set to a folder on my persnal data HD. I created folders and sorted my emails from the inbox to them. I compacted the folders but OE will send but never detects new messages. I have checked my pop settings on my Gmail account and they are set to be able to get mail always even if downloaded, and the setting for mail access by pop is set to remain in inbox. Plus my OE is set to leave a copy on the server, even if I delete it in my OE. It doesn't time out, it just doesn't retrieve the messages. The SSL is correct too, plus I can send email from OE. Why won't OE6 download anymore of my email, Plus I have all of the updates, that Windows Update detected, already installed; except the language. I just reinstalled the OS yesterday and upgraded the OE and IE then. I don't know what else to do. Please someone suggest something. -- Hugs & Kisses Kimmie |

I have no first hand experience with Gmail, but you say you have it
configured to leave a copy on the server. Do you also have it set to delete after X says? If you don't, the server will eventually reach its limit and you will stop receiving mail. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Kimberly Anne Thiesen" wrote in message ... Gmail has a 2.5 Gig capacity, which I am no were even near. It is Googles
approach at email. So in OE I have it leave a copy on the server and not remove a copy ever. On my settings page of Gmail, you have a choice, to keep the mail in your inbox when accessed by pop or you can archive it. Additionally you can tell Gmail if you want all email to be accessable always or just email from this point on. There is a setting for forwarding, which I don't have set either. -- Hugs & Kisses Kimmie "Bruce Hagen" wrote: I have no first hand experience with Gmail, but you say you have it configured to leave a copy on the server. You may want to try recording a pop3.log which will show more details
about incoming mail. To create an POP3.log In OE5+, go to Tools, Options, Maintenance, Troubleshooting and check the Mail box. You may need to close OE after doing the send for the log to get written to disk. The log will be in the Store Folder which is listed in Tools, Options, Maintenance, Store Folder. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Kimberly Anne Thiesen" wrote in message ... It would be a pretty good trick to fill up a GMail account to the point where it would stop accepting new email.
