![]() " mac" wrote in message ... "iweb" wrote in message news ![]() Hi, I have around 8000 plus emails in my Outlook Express 6 Inbox and around 10000 plus in the Sent Items. I use an IBM thinkpad P4 CPU with Windows 2000 Server as the OS. Many a times while searching mails or opening the Inbox I get an in sufficient memory error and only 4000 or 6000 mails are displayed. Have to re start the machine for all mails from the Inbox to be displayed. Would like to know the following: 1) Why is this happening? Is this a hardware, software or OS error? 2) whats the solution, can outlook express handle this large size of emails or should i migrate to MS Outlook? 3) Can i set a Message rule that all messages I send automatically get copied to a new folder which will reduce new mails in the Very huge Sent Items folder? Please guide. Kind Regards, Akshay. To answer your Questions: 1) User error. That's extreme. The error is that OE can't handle the huge amount of information, so the user needs to be aware of that, but don't blame the user for not knowing ahead of time, as OE gives no warning as to its limitations. steve |
