Default Using Outlook Express on Two Computers

We've just set up a home network with two computers. Is there any way to run
the same POP3 email account on each and have the OE data sync automatically
between them? Many thanks!

Only for incoming messages, not sent messages.
Tools | Options | Advanced | Leave a copy on the server.
At least one of the machines should check the option to delete after 5 days
although the number can be changed. I also check the option to delete from
server when deleted from deleted items.

Thanks, Frank. Unfortunately we need a more dynamic syncing between the two,
so that a message deleted or refiled on one is automatically reflected on the
other. I've heard about setting the store folder of each Outlook Express
program to a destination on a Shared network folder and then using a sync
program to sync the data in the two folders every day or hour. Tried this
last night but didn't quite work . . .

OE doesn't support putting files on a network drive. At best it won't
work. At worst it will corrupt your data.

If your ISP offers IMAP mail server access, that is the way to go. IMAP
is designed for a single mail account to be shared by multiple PCs. The
IMAP mail is managed at the mail server.

If your ISP doesn't provide IMAP support, an option is to run your own
local mail server that accesses the ISP via POP3 and then provides IMAP
support to your local PCs. For an example of such a program, see:
Mercury Mail Transport System
