Hi. While troubleshooting an unrelated problem, I accidentally changed the
associated program for the files in my OE store folder and don't know what to change it back to. I have since made the program association OE, but don't think that's right, it's not the same icon that was there before (plus I don't remember OE opening whenever I clicked on the file, so that can't be correct). Can you please tell me what the proper association is for those files? Thanks. |

It will not allow me to delete the dbx filetype. The "Delete" button is not
active. "DGuess" wrote: "Jim" wrote in message ... Hi. Does OE open? If so, do not worry with it. Just change the icon for it.

Yes, OE opens and seems to work fine. The only thing is that the file sizes
don't seem to change for the store folders files even though the email messages in them change frequently. I thought the wrong file association might have something to do with that. OE has lots of wasted space in the files. If you manipulate messages in a
folder (even marking them as read), you should compact the folder and that will shrink it down. File | Folder | Compact. As far as OE is concerned the settings for DBX file type don't matter. Even
if you set them to OE (msimn.exe) you still won't be able to open one by clicking on it. Some other programs (like AutoCAD) use the DBX extension and may set it. If that is the case you won't be able to open that program's files by clicking on them until you set the association back. OE just plain doesn't care. Don't EVER open these files with any program that might make a change anywhere in the file. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP, OE/WM Please reply in newsgroup. "Jim" wrote in message ...
