Hi,
Any attempt to use "Reply to sender", "Forward" or "Forward as attachment" fails in news. On e-mail, there is no problem. If I attempt to do this from the list of messages, the command is just ignored. If I try this from an opened message, I get a box "An error occurred while replying or forwarding..." (The exact text may different as this is translated from a localized version. The question is, what error is "an error". I whish Microsoft shoot any programmer that meabs is not required to always be more specific. ;-) Any idea about the cause of this problem? grtnx, Ruud Uphoff |

If it does, then it could be a problem with the message stores for the newsgroup(s) on the other Identity. Have you compacted the folders recently? Have you removed any old messages from the newsgroups? Is this a particular newsgroup and not all newsgoups or accounts? Are there a lot of read messages in the newsgroup? I'm sure programmers have thought similar about users, I know tech support people do when not enough information is given.. :-) |

That can happen if OE isn't properly set as the default mail program.
Where you are having a problem is where OE wants to send an e-mail from news component. In this case, OE doesn't directly use itself. It goes through the Windows default mail program. When you do those things from the mail component, OE directly uses itself.
