Are they in dbx files or are they in Hotmail folders? Hotmail folders only
mirror what is on the server, so you would have to download them again. If you are referring to a POP3 account, You have to copy ALL the dbx files to CD. Download them to a folder on your new machine's HDD | Remove the Read Only attribute and then import. References: Backup & Resto http://www.insideoutlookexpress.com/backup/ http://www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx http://www.oehelp.com/OEBackup/Default.aspx If you are transferring to another PC, and have access to a Windows XP setup CD, or if both computers are running Windows XP, see: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/IE/...pten.mspx#EBAA P.S. Your time, or time zone setting is fast. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Dan" wrote in message ... I'm having problems importing my email from old computer to my new computer. But it keeps prsisting in giving me the same message, "No messages can be found in this folder or another application........." Thanks. Dan -is time zone setting still a problem ,not sure how to correct that one. "Bruce Hagen" wrote in message ... Are they in dbx files or are they in Hotmail folders? Are you choosing File | Import | Messages | Microsoft Outlook Express 6 and
checking Import from an OE6 Store Directory and pointing to where you saved the dbx files? Did you uncheck the Read Only attribute *after* copying to the new HDD? And did you include Folders.dbx when you copied the files? Failing to do either of these will prevent an import. Review the links I gave you. There must be a step you missed. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Dan" wrote in message ... Hi Dan,
Did you include all the files from the old OE message store, or just selected files. Folders.dbx is required for the import process. The basic transfer of files would involve copying the files -- not exporting them -- but importing them at the second PC.
