Default Cannot remove News Account

Hi,
I add a news account to subscribe one newsgroup. Now this nntp server
close the newsgroup, i want to manually remove this news account. Thus i do
the following:

In "news.xxx.com" - right click - "Remove Account", and confirm delete.
But the news account still exist.

Do anyone encounter the same problem as me? Please give me a suggestion.

Thanks

Try Tools | Accounts | News. Select the account and click Remove.

If that doesn't remove it, are you using the automatic Main Identity or an
identity that you created?

Thanks for reply~

I follow the instruction you provide, it can remove it. But in the left
viewing pane, it doesn't remove it. When i go to Tools | Account | News
again, the newsgroup appear again.

And i click Files | Identities | Manage Identities, it shows only one
identity call "Main Identity". Is it worth the problem?

Thanks

Remove the account again and then go to File | Folder | Compact all. Then
close OE. Then open it again and see if the newsserver is still listed.

Thanks for reply.

As my OE 6 contains only one account, i can't remove it. Thus I manually
create a new identity and perform yours suggestion, but the nersserver still
listed.

Finally i use new identity and remove the old one....

It got on your computer by installing Windows.
You can't remove it.
You can remove access to it from Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs|
Add/Remove Windows Components.

He could also uninstall Windows and that would get rid of it.
