I just made an exact copy (so I thought) of my old hard drive to a new one,
using the manufacturer's copy program. When I use OE on my new drive, I can't open or save attachments. When I double-click on the attachment file, nothing happens. When I right click, and try to save an attachmetn, I get a can't save error message. If I boot to my old drive and use OE, the attachment access is fine. If I direct OE on the old drive to use the store folders on the new drive, the attachment access is still fine. Therefore, I must conclude that there is something wrong with OE on the new drive. Anyone have any idea how I can fix this? |

toolsoptionssecurity, uncheck do not allow attachments............
The default setting is the safe bet, to avoid accidentally opening or saving viral code. Charlie "Michael" wrote in message . .. I wish it were that simple. Remember, I made an exact copy of one drive to
another. The settings for OE are still preserved, including the allow attachments checkbox. Strangely, if the attachment is a picture, I can see the picture embedded in the body of the e-mail. I just can't open it by clicking on it. "Charlie Tame" wrote in message ... toolsoptionssecurity, uncheck do not allow attachments............ Ah, is this just the one attachment Michael?
If so you may not have a program set up to open that file type. Do other pictures work? I've seen a few gifs and jpgs that are malformed, and one program will open them, another one will not etc etc. If you can't open it manually by right click, open withchoose programalways use this program to open this type of file then you might consider downloading something like irfanview from www.irfanview.com to see if that will open it. No...it's all attachments, regardless of type. I can't open them or save
them. This happened because I copied a bootable drive to a new one. The old one still works fine, but this bug appears on the new drive. "Charlie Tame" wrote in message ... Ah, is this just the one attachment Michael? |

Go to File | Identities and set up a new Identity. See if that fixes it.
Also make sure no 3rd party program is interfering. See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 steve "Michael" wrote in message news ![]() No...it's all attachments, regardless of type.
