Since I can't open attachments, I am concluding that OE must be corrupt.
What is the procedure for re-installing and will I lose my store files and address book? |

Ahhghh...people keep telling me that here and I keep saying that does nothing to fix the problem. /qp If you stayed in the same thread instead of starting a new post, that wouldn't have happened. These links show how to backup and restore OE. The process is the same for transferring to a new computer, which would be the same as a new HDD. Review them and you may find where you went wrong. Backup & Resto http://www.insideoutlookexpress.com/backup/ http://www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx http://www.oehelp.com/OEBackup/Default.aspx If you are transferring to another PC, and have access to a Windows XP setup CD, or if both computers are running Windows XP, see: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/IE/...pten.mspx#EBAA If you insist on reinstalling OE, (which probably won't help): How to Reinstall or Repair IE6 and OE6: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=318378 Although written for WinXP, it works for all Windows operating systems 98 or newer. If you are using WinXP/SP2, and it was not already on your computer from the factory, you will have to remove SP2 first.
