Default disappearing or self-deleting email

I'm looking for freeware that allows you to create a disappearing or
self-deleting email. Several years ago I had found something that
actually worked, but now I can't remember where I found it.

You mean it just disappears like this, Gary? If so, look at the source code.

How long am I supposed to wait for it to disappear?

Oops, I'm reading in Plain Text, it remains readable forever.

I switch to HTML format. Oops, I have scripting disabled, it remains
readable forever.

Enable HTML and scripting and it disappears after a few seconds, until I
leave the message and come back to again.

You also have to make sure you aren't in the Restricted Zone.

Yeah, it won't work for those who have scripting disabled. Just another MS
attempt to limit the usefulness of HTML. G Seems like the NIH syndrome
still applies. (NIH=Not Invented Here)

Intriguing. 40tude Dialog shows three components:

text/plain
text/html
Raw message

In the first case, I see your complete message text in black type on a
white background. Courier font.

In the second case, I see your complete message text in black type on a
yellow background. A sans-serif proportionally spaced font.

In the third case I see what the HTML is trying, unsuccessfully, to do.
Using the Arial font is successful, though!

Wonder where my old disappearing one is. It used the filters to slowly fade
it away. Was a big hit within MS for a bit but was slow on slow computers at
the time.
