Ever since connecting my Motorola phone via Phonetools to my laptop,
whenever I type a name in the To: box (instead of opening Address Book and selecting name from there) it now gives me for instance a friends mobile number instead of her email address like it used to. Any ideas how I can rectify this? Lynn |

Hi Lynn,
This isn't an Outlook Express issue. Motorola provides manuals in PDF format for its phones, which may be a good way to find the answer. The issue might be resolved by changing the sort order of the phone's address book, but I am not familiar with the feature in question. This may or not be correct for your phone model: Press Action ------------------------------------------- MENU open the Phonebook Menu Scroll scroll to Setup Select select Setup Scroll scroll to Sort by Change select Sort by Scroll scroll to Name, Speed No., Voice Name or Email Select select the sort order -- Tim K. aka Kuay Tim MS-MVP - Outlook Express Lynnwood, WA * "Lynn W" wrote in message ... Lynn Thanks for your reply, I just presumed there might be a way of ensuring that when using OE6 the names it selected when composing a message were from the OE6 Address Book, which don't contain the 'mobile' names and number. Hi Lynn,
I have not seen this issue, or a possible resolution. Is the mobile phone number given in an entries properties sheet in the address book opened from OE? If not, I don't know where auto-complete might be getting this information. Hopefully someone else will have an answer that will be helpful. -- Tim K. aka Kuay Tim MS-MVP - Outlook Express Lynnwood, WA * "Lynn W" wrote in message ... "Kuay Tim" wrote in message ... Hi Tim
No this entry is not showing in the OE Address Book, it has me baffled but I seem to recollect I have seen it shown somewhere (just can't find it now) I had a feeling it was showing in Windows Explorer somewhere under a Contacts list, but not sure. If I find it I'll post the details. Lynn "Kuay Tim" wrote in message ... Hi Lynn, I have not seen this issue, or a possible resolution. Hi Tim
I've found the listing I was thinking about. Control Panel - Internet Properties - My Profile all my mobile phone details are stored there as well as my email addresses!!
