Default Suddenly, my server is not sending mail to my inbox....solution?

After years of proper operation, suddenly my server is not sending mail to my
inbox...I can read it on the server, but there has been some change to the
password that I don't know....or know why it happened...

How can I start the server sending my mail....my OE is unable to fetch it
from the server anymore...how can I correct this?

Thanks.

Call your ISP? They know your OE password and can reset it for you if need
be.

Download Protected Storage Passview
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/pspv.html

Close OE.

Run pspv.exe, (no install required)
Locate the account password and delete it.
Close PSPV
Reboot

Start OE then when prompted for the pasword, enter it and it should accept
it.
Next go to Tools | Accounts | Mail | account name | Properties | Servers
tab
Re-enter the password there.

That should do it. If not post back.

Remove the account from OE, close OE, then open OE and add it in again.

I hope they don't know my MS Outlook Express password. That is a local
password.

The last time I called tech support about an account issue (not email,
but), they did _not_ know my password. The only way I can fix a password
issue with my ISP is to ask them for a password reset. They generate a
new password, then send it to me.

Hi MEG,

After reading e-mail on the Web page do you delete it? If not, the (server)
mailbox may be full. Check to see if OE is deleting messages from the server
after they are downloaded.

OE Tools, Accounts, Mail AccountProperties, Advanced tab.

In most cases, mail can be left on the server for a few days without
reaching or exceeding the (server) mailbox limit.

I have three separate addresses that when I set up, I used File | Identity |
Add New Identity. Each one asked for me to choose a password when setting up
the account. Not very long ago, I needed the PW for one of the accounts and
had forgotten it. I called Cox, and once they were sure of who I was, they
told me the password.

Maybe some ISPs don't know, or tell you they don't know as a security
provision for the user, but Cox knows the OE passwords for all of their
customers.

Scroll down to where it shows:

Download Protected Storage PassView (28KB)

I'll go ahead and add the url.
