Outlook Express seems to be deleting all attachments sent to it with
e-mail (even ones I have sent to myself and know are just simple Word files) is there an option that I can change in OE that is doing this? Thanks in advance. AM |

I found a similar option but it says that it will delete attachments
that may be viruses, therefore is this not a potentialy dangerous move and also the fact it says attachments that may be viruses and not all attachments makes me wonder if it should therefore be allowing simple word files through OK as is as how could it think they may be viruses unless this option really means stop all attahments and if so why doesn't ti say this? So basically you don't scan any attachments for viruses when getting them,
even from trusted sources? That is not a good practice. What this option does is to keep you from opening something by accident. It does cause you to go to extra steps to be able to save it but you can decide which is better: 1) Willy nilly opening any attachment then find out you totally screwed up then taking it to BestBuy or Staples or wherever and getting a charge that begins at $125 for fixing the mess up you created. 2) Better safe than sorry. Still got the $125 in your pocket and having to make a few extra mouse clicks (which take so much energy according to some). wrote in message oups.com...
