For some reason I have managed to create two identical default accounts in
o/e, when I try to delete one of them it does but when I restart o/e there it
is back again, any ideas to how I can remove this rogue account ?

This was asked and answered in another group. If you feel you must post to
more than one group, please do not multi-post. Crosspost instead via New
Post | Tools | Select Newsgroups. This way if a post is replied to in one
group, it will also be replied to in the other group(s).

But even crossposting is seldom necessary since those of us that check
posts, do so in more than one newsgroup. Thank you.

Hi rich9791,

I tried to create two accounts with the same name in my Outlook Express and
it wouldn't let me.

I can create two identical accounts as long as they have a individual name.

Can you change the name of one of your accounts to a different name?

Open Outlook Express | Tools | Accounts | select one of your mail accounts |
Properties | under Mail Account create a different unique name | click OK.

If this name displays in the Internet Accounts dialog window select your
other account and give it a unique name.

It also should display in the Internet Accounts dialog window.

Close and open Outlook Express, what displays in the Internet Accounts
dialog window?

Ken

Hi rich9791,

If information in previous post did not perform as expected we can probably
assume that identity may be corrupt.

Create a new identity, then create a mail account in that identity, test, if
okay, instruction can be provided on how to transfer all mail and contacts
(address book) from corrupt identity to this new identity and delete corrupt
identity.

To create a new Identity, open Outlook Express, choose File, on it's menu
select Identities, on the expanding menu choose Add New Identity.

Hi John,

It is up to you if you want to live with the problem.

Just thought you should know, creating a new Identity and transferring all
file and folder info from old identity to the new Identity is very easy.

Example:

Open your new identity, choose File, select Import, on the expanding menu
choose Messages. In the Outlook Express Import dialog window select
"Microsoft Outlook Express 6", click Next. In the Import From OE6 dialog
window select your old Identity, click OK, assure all folder is selected in
the next dialog window, click Next, voila....
