Been using IE6 & OE seems like forever. All of a sudden an OE window askes
me to Login - window has correct user name and I've re-entered my password. Not accepted. I have Verizon DSL and after a looong session they suggested that I delete and re-install IE6 and OE. Not sure they know what they are talking about. I have a restore disk for my 4 year old XP eMachine but I'm not sure how to use it all. Is there any other way to fix OE? |

Try creating a new identity, switch to it and set up your mail account in
the new identity and test it. If all works well, import your mail messages from the older identity and then delete it. This can happen if the entries in the registry become corrupted and is most likely to happen if you've been using the default "Main Identity" created when you first set up Outlook Express. Post back if no help. -- Jim Pickering MVP-Outlook Express/Windows Mail Please reply to newsgroup only so that others may be helped with your feedback. "PinkLady" wrote in message ... Thanks to both. Tried to follow directions, but nothing worked. Should I
buy a new copy of IE and delete the old one? "Vincenzo Di Russo [MVP]" wrote in message ... Kuay Tim wrote: Hi PinkLady, This should be helpful. Once again tried to follow all the directions. Just couldn't accomplish the
tasks properly, I guess. It didn't work for me. It's really a bummer living in such a remote area - no gurus!!! It's a 100 mile trip to take the CPU to a fix-it place, so it would be easier to order software if you think that would do the trick. "Bruce Hagen" wrote in message ... It's a 100 mile trip to take the CPU to a fix-it place, so it would be
easier to order software if you think that would do the trick. Hi, There is another thing you could try before making trip to fix-it place. You could create a new user, when you do this, Windows XP will give the new user a brand new Internet Explorer and Outlook Express. To create a new user go to Control Panel, double click Users and follow the instructions. Ken "PinkLady" wrote in message ... | Been using IE6 & OE seems like forever. Well, that was an interesting experience. I got it all done, but OE still
acts the same. Thanks for the suggestion. Guess I'll just have to buy another copy. "Ken" wrote in message ...
