Am I missing something here? I send digital camera photos all the time

from
my camera's CompactFlash card using a USB connection. Then I may delete

the
pictures from the card if they're not worth saving and never transfer them
to my hard drive. Of course, the CompactFlash card "looks" like a hard
drive of some sort to the computer.
