Two items, to briefly recap this thread:

Free Yahoo! email accounts (with the exception of yahoo.com) require a
subscription to Yahoo! Delivers. I had to do this with yahoo.com before
they changed to fee-based access only. I had to do this with my
yahoo.co.jp account. Pretty sure that is common to all remaining free
Yahoo! Mail accounts.

Not with Yahoo.es I have two accounts configured with OE and not only am
I not a subscriber to Yahoo! Delivers but I've never heard of it!

Secure Password Authentication is almost never used, outside of MS

And therein lies the rub: US- and CA-based accounts (yahoo.com & ca.yahoo.com) must subscribe to Yahoo Delivers in order to access the account in a POP3 Mail Client.

Then there's http://www.ypopsemail.com/ ...w
