Default Formatting in HTML editor

Even though there is a font selection box I can't pick anything but the Read default. Say
the default is Arial but I want to say a few things in Baskerville. Pick Baskerville and
start typing and it jumps back to Arial. Also will not change a highlighted string to a
different font. Color, yes.

This must be a simple setup error on my part. But I cannot find it.

If you are using stationery, some default to a specific font and size.

Tools | Options | Compose. Make sure nothing is checked or selected in the
Stationery section.
