Default Why does OE6 show an envilope in the right low corner, if it does not get a new mesage?

Hello!
Why does OE6 show an envelope in the right low corner, if it does not get a
new message? All folders in my hotmail.com and imap e-mail accounts are not
bold. There is not a new message in my incoming folders. I use Windows 2000
sp4.
Best regards,
Dima

Do you have any message rules that may be *moving* incoming messages to
another folder? How about Blocked Senders? Either of those will set off
the icon's appearance since you did have incoming but your setup is not
showing anything in your Inbox.

Thank you Jim Pickering for your reply.
I do not have any message rules that may be moving incoming messages to
another folder and do not have Blocked Senders in OE6.

You might want to check with the IMAP server host to see if they are
applying any rules, on the server side that may be the cause. Other than
that, I have no idea why the icon is appearing if there really are no new
incoming messages. Sorry.

As I said, if it's not some server side rule being applied (such as an
antispam or antivirus scan), then I have no idea. But I still suspect there
is something going on at the server side and someone is not being completely
truthful with you. But, that's only a guess. Good luck in solving it.

Thanks Jim Pickering for your opinion!
How could a server side rule (such as an antispam or antivirus scan) be
connected to the problem: Why does not OE6 turn any folder or account bold
if it shows the envelope in the right low corner? OE6 does detect a new
message since It shows the envelope. Why does not it turn any folder or
account bold then?
