If they're not already there, put the "spectacles" in the Columns Bar. View | Columns and Add the spectacles in a column next to the subject header. When you want to "watch" a message, click next to the message under the spectacles. Now, watched messages will cause the newsgroup name to change to Red (Default) if there is a reply to that message. If you want to keep all Watched posts at the beginning of your newsgroup messages, go to: View | Sort by | Watch / Ignore instead of Sent.
