![]() This is a wierd one. I have a client who uses OE6 to send/receive email from his earthlink account. Basically what is happening is he composes email offline in OE6, shuts his computer off, then turns his computer on at a later time, connects to the internet and then sends the offline messages. Problem is that those messages are never received by the recipient. When he gets online to send the messages, he hits the send/receive button. OE6 goes through the motions as it says it is sending the messages. When it is done sending, the outbox is empty and no error messages appear. A day later he will get a call from a client asking if he ever sent the message. The key here is when he sends the messages offline, then shuts his computer down. When he composes messages in that scenario, the messages never get delivered. However, if he writes an email offline, then connects to the internet without shutting down his computer, then the message is delivered to the recipient without a problem. This issue exists on both of his laptops, both using the same version of OE6, and both have identical settings. If any one has a clue as to why this is happening, I would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks. |

Tools | Options | Maintenance tba check the box to log Mail They canfind the message stores folder by clicking on the Stores Folder button on the same tab (Maintenance) Also, they will need to have hidden files and folders unselected to be able to see them as well as not hiding file extensions. From Windows Explorer Tools | Folder Options Views tab Sleect "SHow all files and folders....." Uncheck "Hide file extensions for known file types" Click Apply then OK |

If you must post identical messages in more than one newsgroup please cross post, i.e. please place all of the newsgroups in the Newsgroup field of one message, separated by commas. That way when someone reads the message in one newsgroup it will be marked as read in all of them. In addition, an answer posted in one newsgroup will generally show up in all of them. This is usually not necessary since most of those who answer posts read more than one newsgroup. See http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM http://www.fjsmjs.com Please reply in newsgroup. Do NOT send email. |
