I have just built my own PC and am trying to get OE6 to work but when I click
on it I get an error message saying that it cannot open the Message Store, my computer may be out of memory or my disk is full (neither of these are true). It then gives a number: 0x80040154,14007. It also says that msoe.dll is incorrect - I have tried reinstalling it but then it says that I need cinfo.xml from my XP SP2 disk which doesnt exist then I have searched for it. Please help me! Thanks Julie |

Thanks for the quick response. I downloaded your script and nothing
happened. So I did a search for *.dbx (including hidden folders) and nothing was found. If someone could give me a straight copy of OE6 I could have a go at reinstalling it but all my versions seem to be older and so won't install. Thanks for your efforts. As a last resort you can delete this key in the registry and OE should then
start: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities But back up the key first. steve "Julie B" wrote in message ... Yes, and I still found nothing. Sorry ... Yes, it is checked but it shows 0.0MB. All the files are in the OUtlook
Express folder though exactly the same as they are on my other fully working computer. I used my employer's CD as our staff have a license to use Windows from home. I'm just wondering if it isn't a complete version. I'm also having problems with the "Help and Support Centre" which is available from the start menu. When I click on that it says that it cannot find helpctr.exe. I also have no system restore or many other items from System Tools although again the files are there in the folder but Windows just can't find them. I'm also having problems with the "Help and Support Centre" which is available from the start menu. That is called a "pirated" version and could subject both you and your employer to legal liability. While no one here acts as a cop for Microsoft, it's not a wise thing to publicize that you are using an illegal copy of Windows. You would be much better off to purchase a copy legally and install it, so that you have advantage of all features, including Help and Support and access to Windows Updates. Your choice, but there isn't much we can really help with in your particular situation since we have no way of knowing what features are not available in your system. Sorry. -- Jim Pickering MVP-Outlook Express/Windows Mail Please reply to newsgroup only so that others may be helped with your feedback. |

It is not a pirated copy. We have an agreement with Microsoft.
