Using WinXP SP2, OE 6. While Logged on XP User Profile "A", I created a new
OE Identitiy (lets say "Kevin") in addittion to "main identity". OE Identity "Kevin" is successfully set up, associated with a separate (from "main identity") email account and is able to send/receive email fine.... but ONLY when logged onto XP User Profile "A". When logged onto XP User Profile "B" or "C", only the OE "Main Identity" is selectable. OE Identity "Kevin" does not appear... so you can not Switch Identities. How do I get XP User Profile "B" and "C" to recognize OE Identity "Kevin" as a "switchable" Identity? Is Kelly's Korner's (http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_o..._share_address) method of editing registry entires going to solve this? It sounds like its close, but not exact. Advice? |

Profiles cannot share information not in the particular profile. If
using profiles, accounts and identities must be created in each profile. This is by design. -- Jim Pickering MVP-Outlook Express/Windows Mail Please reply to newsgroup only so that others may be helped with your feedback. "Semaj" wrote in message ... In addition to what Jim has said, the "Main Identity"s that you see
under each Windows profile are NOT the same identity. They have the same name but don't share the same data. Identities are defined in the private Current User portion of the registry. Users can't access each others private registry section. It is possible to share data files across users. See the cloning section of http://www.insideoe.com/backup/index.htm But once you've cloned an identity, any changes you make in a variety of settings won't automatically propagate. This includes Blocked Senders, Message Rules, Accounts, etc. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Semaj" wrote in message ... Using WinXP SP2, OE 6.
