I'm set up in OE 6.0 to use plain text for mail and news. I have show quoted
text in reply checked. Most of the time I get the marks when I bring up a reply to a message. I've noticed that on some email I receive, when I hit reply, the text of the message I'm answering is there but without the marks. I vaguely recall something about some people using email programs that won't show the marks in the reply as you bring it up to answer the mail, but I can't remember what the answer was to solving it. Naturally, when answering a long email with insertions, its an advantage to have those marks showing. Is there a way to handle these messages that don't show the marks that will insert them or is this just something you learn to live with :-)) ??? Many thanks Dudley |

Outlook Express has always been like this on purpose. We have complained about this since OE4. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM http://www.fjsmjs.com Please reply in newsgroup. Do NOT send email. |

Ouch! Well, in that case, I guess the answer will be for me to write to the
people sending me messages in this format and get them to stop doing it :-)) Sort of like when you go to the doctor and say "it hurts when I do THIS" and he answers, "Don't DO that!" :-)) Dudley "Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM" wrote in message ... MIME/Quoted Printable is appropriate for HTML messages but not for plain
text. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM Reply in newsgroup "They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security" "Dudley Henriques" wrote in message ... I'll have this person switch to plain text messaging. We correspond quite
often and that would seem the best solution. Thanks Frank, as always. Dudley "Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE" wrote in message ...
