Usually I save messages to external folders to Outlook Express with the Drag
& Drop method. After the last XP installation, this does not work to me. Can you help me, please? |

It may be because you are not fully patched at Windows Updates, or you may
have a damaged identity especially if it is the default Main Identity. File | Identity | Add New Identity. Create a new one and test it. If all is well, you can import your messages from the old identity and delete it. Thanks, Bruce, for your fast reply. The WU is OK. I had tested already,
too, the identity change. I can drag messages into OE from an external folder, but not to the inverse one. BTW, I can drag, without problem, between folders within OE. When I drop in desktop, for example, nothing happens. ![]() Greetings "Bruce Hagen" escribió en el mensaje ... Even more confusing now. I'm not sure if the problem is within OE, or is an
XP problem. Clear the Temporary Internet Files. In IE | Tools | Internet Options | Delete Files button. And check the box to Delete Offline content. Perhaps a CHKDSK and a Defrag might help. I would like some input from someone else, but you can try this in the meantime. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Bertoldo" wrote in message ... Thanks, Bruce, for your fast reply. Isn't that problem *caused* by one of the recent updates?

Not that I'm aware of. You mentioned the last XP installation. Did you mean
the last updates? If it was the latest updates, remove them via Add/Remove Programs and reboot. If the problem has gone away, download them again with your anti-virus program turned *off*. A/V programs have a history of preventing a clean install of Windows Updates. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Gary Smith" wrote in message ... At least one other person recently has reported problems with
drag-and-drop to a Windows folder. The cause hasn't been determined. As a workaround, File, Save As to an EML file does still work for that person. I've got all the latest updates and don't have any problems. But I also have one of the optional updates. I don't know if that makes any difference. http://www.insideoe.com/#kb918651 -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Gary Smith" wrote in message ...
