Default OE 6 slow response

When I click on an email or an icon OutlookExpress 6 responds very slowly.
It freezes for some 30 to 60 seconds before it responds. I do not have this
problem with any other application. I have reinstalled Windows XP sp2 but it
made no difference. I compacted all my folders. There was a problem with two
folders so I just deleted them. This also made no difference.
I reregisted the libraries--mshtmt.dll, shdovw.dll, and browseui.dll. These
all worked fine. However, when ai tried to reregister msjava.dll there was
no such library on my machine. I downloaded it into my system and tried
again to reregister it but I got a message say that it failed to register.
Any help would be most welcome.
Thanks,

Its probably a problem with the message store. Go to File | Identities and
setup a new Identity and see how that works. If its working okay, then use
File | Import | Messages to get the messages from the older Identity.
