Every time I boot Outlook Express to use the Newsgroup feature, my View
setting has changed. I usually have it so that I only see my own posts and their threads. However, when I restart the app, the View setting is such that I see ALL posts. What could cause this? |

Options in several third-party applications can disallow such changes. These
include Ad-aware's Ad-Watch, Spybot Tea Timer, SpywareBlaster, SpySweeper, Ewido, Norton AntiVirus, McAfee VirusScan and/or Antispyware, and recent versions of Zone Alarm (Free and Pro). -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE, Shell/User, Security), Aumha.org VSOP, DTS-L.org -Nisko- wrote: Every time I boot Outlook Express to use the Newsgroup feature, my View setting has changed. Thanks for the reply. I have several of the apps you mentioned on my
system - but they have been there for a while and I haven't had this problem. Can you give me an example of disallowing this to happen (McAfee AV, Ad-Aware's Ad-Watch)? "PA Bear" wrote in message ... You'll need to check with McAfee and Lavasoft support, Nisko.

See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 You should do that minimally.

Thanks. I read through the URL you sent me - but didn't see anything that
related to my problem. BTW, what do you mean by "do that minimally?" I meant turn off email scanning at least.
You might try going to File | Identities and set up a new Identity and see if the problem persists after doing that. It could be some registry corruption is doing it and that would fix it. steve "-Nisko-" wrote in message news:3QLHg.140$Zm1.107@dukeread02... Thanks.
