There is a known issue that messes up OE with the address book after patch
911567. There is now a new patch to fix this for XP users, but none yet for
Win2000 users, so the best bet is to just not install that patch until they
release the patch for the Win2000 users.

See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#14 although that doesn't address the
addressbook errors specifically.

Thanks for that. It doesn't just mess up the address book. I cannot
reply to emails either.

But if you uninstall it it fixes that problem as well?

I think there is a workaround where you have to export the current address
book and then rebuild it. I can try and find it if you want, but I would
just leave the patch uninstalled until the fix comes out.

Everything reverts to normal once I uninstall 911567. I thought MS were
no longer supporting Win2k.
