I am posting this for a friend.
She is running Win XP Pro and uses OE6. Within the past month or two, the following issue arose: In an HTML message (both new and replies), she is able to change font type, color, underlining, italicizing and bolding but not font size. Whatever font type is chosen, the size always reverts back to 12 no matter what size is picked from the drop down list. The minute a key is pressed, the size goes back to 12. I tried to help her (I am a retired programmer and fairly technical) and did many Google searches and searches in the MSKB. I found several other users who had the exact same problem but I was unable to find a resolution. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

If you are using stationery, some default to a specific font and size.

Bruce:
Thanks for the quick reply. 1 - I had already checked the stationery setting. Nothing is checked. 2 - I had already seen MSKB articles 232002 and 240730. Solutions provided in these articles didn't work. 3 - The problem is not printing so, although I had seen article 276435, I felt it was irrelevant. 4 - article 178895, she is able to change all the things listed in "symptoms", namely style, size, color. It is only the size that reverts back to 12. 5 - I checked the HTML source and it looks right (I've dabbled in websites and have used HTML). It's OE6 that's not rendering it properly and only within the past month or two. I tried composing a mesage in Word 2003 and was able to change font sizes there. When I copied/pasted the message into OE6, it did not show sizes properly. The entire message was in 12, no matter what font was selected. Bruce:
My friend had already created a new identity so I tried composing a new message under that identity (not the main identity) with the same results. I did not, however, create a brand new identity, myself, from scratch. The alternate identity I used (that she had already created), was empty - i.e. contained no messages. Any other ideas? Thanks. That's all I've got, CSW. We'll have to see if someone else has an idea.

Close OE. Change it again. Close OE. Open OE and try changing the size now. Alias |

Try Message | New Message Using | No stationery and see if you can change
the font there. It sounds as if there is something overriding the font settings, and stationery is the first suspect. Try the way I suggest above to verify its not the problem. The next thing to check then would be your accessibility options, which could be doing the overriding. steve "CSW" wrote in message news:UtnIg.14258$WK4.12076@fed1read06...
