On installing my isp and router on to my new pc I initially received the test
email okay and a couple of emails that were due with no problems. I can access the internet on the new pc with no problems. But..... all emails that are expected are still arriving on my old pc? So .... I have done the following - To back up address book from old pc: 1. On the File menu, click Export, and then click Address Book. 2. Select Text File (Comma Separated Values) and then click the Export button. 3. Browse to your desired location and type a name for the exported file. The file extension should remain CSV. To restore address book on new pc: 1. On the File menu, click Import, and then click Other Address Book. 2. Select Text File (Comma Separated Values) and then click the Import button. 3. Browse to locate the previously saved CSV file. To back up mail folders and content from old pc: 1. Click Options on the Tools menu. 2. On the Maintenance tab, click the Store Folder button. 3. Press the TAB key to highlight the store folder path, then press CTRL+C to copy it to the clipboard. 4. Close Outlook Express. 5. Click Run on the Start menu. 6. Press CTRL+V to paste the store folder path, and then click OK. 7. Copy all mail folder DBX files as well as the Folders.DBX file to your backup media. It is not necessary to copy newsgroup DBX files as these cannot normally be imported. It is essential that you include Folders.DBX in your backup. To restore mail folders on to my new pc: 1. Copy the backup copies of your DBX files to a new empty folder on your hard disk. 2. In Outlook Express click Import on the File menu, then click Messages. 3. Select Microsoft Outlook Express 6 and click Next. 4. Select Import mail from an OE6 store directory and click OK. 5. Browse to the folder with your backup DBX files and click Next This all worked fine, thus creating a direct duplicate on my old pc and my new pc. I have evn deleted my old account on my old pc but I still don't receive any emails on my new pc? Can you help? |

I don't see anywhere that you said you actually set up your account.

Try sending yourself an email and see if you receive it. If not, then what
errors do you get? If you've downloaded the messages to the old machine, then unless you have it set to leave the messages on the server, you won't download the same messages on the new machine. steve "Red_Jim1972" wrote in message ... Just to confirm my account is set-up on the new pc - like I said I can send
emails from it to anyone? I sent an email from new pc to my new pc - and went fine (seen in 'sent items' folder and nothing showing in 'outbox') with no error messages???? It didn't arrive on the new pc but once I connected my router to my old pc - it just arrives in the email inbox though???? Very confusing? Please suggest further help? I'm sorry, I don't have a clue. You can enable a log file via Tools |
Options | Maintenance that might help. steve "Red_Jim1972" wrote in message ... Just to confirm my account is set-up on the new pc - like I said I can send emails from it to anyone?
