Yes, it should be empty. But on the other hand, if there was a problem like
we have been trying to fix, at worst, the last 15 days should be repeatedly downloaded, and not two years of messages. That's why I feel it will most likely be an ISP issue. Any other suggestions. I even had a support chat session with a at&t /yahoo
person who didn't give me any help. After letting all 16,000 email download, and made sure the settings were correct. I opened OE and the download started all over again at 1 going to 16,000. Any other advice would be appreciated. JCW "JCW" wrote in message ... Frank, I did as you suggested but it does the same thing. I think you answered your own question in this last post. Get a new ISP!
This is the Logon site for you, but any ISP worth 2¢ could have deleted the messages for you. Those messages should not be on the server and AT&T Yahoo is giving you the run-around. When you have to deal with someone in India or wherever I guess that's what
you get. Anyway, I sent a request to AT&T and will wait for response. In the meantime is there a way to sort these messages that have multiples? Since they are all being downloaded over and over, the only thing you can do
right now is to keep dragging new messages to another folder and deleting the others. With News rules, you can choose only to download messages going back a number of days, but that is not an option with Mail rules. One other thing you can try is to delete the Inbox.dbx file with OE closed. A new empty Inbox will be created when you open OE. It is located in the Message Store where the Pop3uidl file was. I doubt this will help, but it won't hurt to try. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "JCW" wrote in message ...
