Default Words disappear

This is my first attempt at a posting. So here goes:
While I am typing a new message, the words suddenly stop. If I am not
watching the screen and don't notice then I find I have typed a lot of stuff
which does not appear. I then have to retype after positioning the mouse
cursor. It has just happened again while I was typing this message. Does
anyone have any ideas on the subject?

There is another program running that steals focus,
the keystrokes go into the buffer for that program
if you are not multi-tasking, then you probably have spy or virus

Any chance you're letting your palms brush the keys under them as you type?
Gets some itneresting results when it's the CTRL or ALT keysg, I know;
BTDT.

I vote with Almost Bob.
Another running program is doing this to you by stealing focus.
