my pc runs very slow for the past 8 days
Perhaps this posting should be at other topic; different newsgroup.
Perhaps somebody here can give assistance. Outlook Express is darned slow at email retrieval. I later realize internet explorer is just as slow..too slow at launching and finding internet links. I copied and pasted from sytem information - Software Environment - Running Tasks.. Below is the list of Running Tasks.. there are too many questions to ask you, but i will start with first two questions.. 1) Why are some programs not available? like svchost.exe 2) Why are there several programs have same name: svchost.exe? The list is not quite in an orderly readable format even though it was copied and paste properly..probably because the outlook express does not have WORD formatting. Neverthless, I really beg your help because this dell machine has been extremely fast over two years. Wonder what is happening. Looks like I lost some system files in Running Tasks. ago. Also McAfee has been running on my XP Professional for a year. Since my schedule is tight tomorrow, I will do on Sunday and Monday what you have suggested i.e links that you mentioned. Thanks.
