Hi, I have three pc's that I use. 2 desktops, 1 LT. I do not use OE in either of them to send/receive emails. I basically use it for reading these newsgroups. Prob= everytime I open OE, the box pops up telling me that the POP3 account All I click is ok and I read the NG's as usual. ALthough this is not a prob, it is an annoying thing everytime I open the program. I just want to take this alert off and not have it pop up at all. WHat can I do to rid me of this. Thank you much for your help-! ! ! ! Make a new shortcut for OE with this as the target: "C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /newsonly and use that to open OE. You will not be able to send email, but posting to the newsgroup will be fine. If your default mail program is Outlook you can use /outnews instead of /newsonly and be able to send mail through Outlook instead of OE. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM http://www.fjsmjs.com Answer in newsgroup.
