Default OE login window appears twice at startup

Some of my end users when they open OE6 in XP SP2 the login window appears
twice. They have to enter their password 2 times and then all is normal. How
can I prevent two login windows from appearing? Thanks.

Make sure email scanning is turned off. See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

Also try unchecking the option under Tools | Options | General to send and
receive at startup and see if that has an effect.

What I have found that works is to uncheck the box that says "include this
account when receiving mail or synchronizing". It makes no sense at all but
it works. I have verified that I do still get email on this account even
after unchecking the box. Go figure! The login window only appears once after
you make this change. Thanks for all replies.
