Default for Alias ... answer to Black screen in OE

Thank you for your help!! The Office 2000 was from when I had a business
and it is a CD...sorry I don't know all the right terminology..pretty
stressed right now...
I found the dbx files and will go buy a flash drive device, but I want to
make sure I know how to reinstall the messages. When I copy them back into
my computer do I open the reinstalled Outlook Express and then copy them?
They will go back into the right folders in the saved messages section?

also, question two, you said to download the updates after restoring
Windows XP but before reinstalling Office 2000? Are you talking about
updates for Office 2000 or Windows XP? Or both? can you install updates
for a program you haven't installed yet? (Office 2000).

Sorry to be so dense. I want to make sure I do this right and not make
more problems and come back again... *S*. I do appreciate Microsoft having
this kind of forum very much.!

Be sure and search for .wab as well, as that is your Address Book and
put that on the flash with the .dbx files. After you install XP, update
it, put the flash in the USB and copy everything in it to a folder you
create on your hard drive. Then open Outlook Express and use the
File/Import feature to import your address book and messages.

XP.

Get those after you install Office.

I'm very happy to hear it. Now, for the future, download and use this OE
back up program (free):
