upon opening O E and connecting I get the following message:
The host 'mail.ev1.net' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'nancc', Server: 'mail.ev1.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D then it seems that my messages are downloaded what is this error message trying to tell me and what should I do about it what do I do to clear it? |

You posted the same question over a week ago. Did you see the response
to that? Here's what I replied to your original message: "I was just able to Telnet into mail.ev1.net, so the server name is valid. If you get that once in a while, it could be a temporary server problem. You'll also get that error if you don't have an active Internet connection when you try to download mail. The curious part is that you say that your mail does download. Look in OE at Tools, Accounts, Mail. Do you have more than one mail account? If so, it could be that one is failing and one is working.
