Default Data within message body ... OE 6

Good Day ...

.... I am using Outlook Express 6, on Windows XP Home, SP2, latest patch
level.

.... at times, I get these Emails from people that have message characters
like
,/SPAN/FONT/I/BFONT size=2SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt". I

.... unfortunately, I have not retained where the messages originated.

.... what is the cause of such? Can I correct via some setting?

Thank you for your time & consideration.

Jim Hughes

That is the markup for a html message, the span/span tag tells the
rendering engine in OE/IE/Firefox/opera to apply the styles to everything
between those tags
B is bold /b end bold font size=(whatever) is use that font size
You can see it because you have enabled 'view as plain text' in your
settings, View as plain text is a good thing, html can include a lot of
nasty code

If you are seeing that in the message viewing window, the sender or his
mail program screwed up. (If you see that while looking at the message
source, that is normal if the sender used HTML format).

It might be that they received a message in HTML format but their mail
program doesn't support it.

Contrary to what another poster said, it you select Tools, Options,
Read, Read All Message In Plain Txt will NOT cause that.
