When I came in this morning, all of my "contacts" were gone. My "address
book" is still there, and seems unharmed. I tried to restore the contacts by "importing" the address book (the .wab file for my user). This gave a "success" message when it was finished, but still the contacts pane shows blank. I don't suspect a virus, unless my checkers (AVG and Windows Defender) missed something. Searching the knowledgebase doesn't seem to cast much light on the difference between OE contacts and the wab address book. |

The Address Book may appear empty if the number of contacts exceeds 999.
The Contacts Pane may appear empty if the number of contacts exceeds 100. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "DLM" wrote in message ... I lost my canned replies a couple of months ago, long story, and for some
reason, my backup was just the icon and didn't contain my replies. I got most back by using Show replies to my messages for all the posts on the server, and some from a very old backup. This was an incorrect reply from the old backup and I didn't realize it was wrong when I posted it. (Never read it). I have corrected it. Thanks for pointing it out. -- ~Bruce "Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM" wrote in message ... "Bruce Hagen" wrote in message ... The Address Book may appear empty if the number of contacts exceeds 999.
