Default OE6 and addressing messages

Why does OE make me choose among all possible addressees when sending a
note? For example, in the To window I enter "Miller" and OE finds "Miller,
Tom" in the address book and puts it there. That's fine. But when I send
the message, OE displays every "Miller" in my address book; I choose Miller,
Tom again. Then OE displays every "Tom" in my address book; I choose
Miller,Tom again.

How can I get it to stop the redundant requests?

Thanks,

Geoff
