I have a hotmail account which I have been using OE6 to download the mail
for years. I am in the process of switching notebooks and am unable to download hotmail on the new notebook. I have checked the settings on both computers to be sure they agree (both OE6 and IE). On the new pc I get a window asking for username and password which it never accepts. Eventually I get the error "access to the account was denied" with an error number of 80004005 or 800ccc32. I have check to be sure that ie security has hotmail.com as 'always accept' for cookies. It still works fine on the old PC just not on the new. Any help would be appreciated. ted |

- Check in Internet Explorer under Tools/Internet Options/Security that
the user has not changed the password setting from 'prompt for username and password' to 'anonymous logon' in internet zone. The option setting for anonymous logon may cause the error. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "deleteriousone" wrote in message ...
