I had become very accustomed to using the "Send a Link" feature with
IE6/OE5.5/Win98 as a means of collecting info from the web and saving them as Drafts but have recently upgraded to a TabletPC with IE6/OE6/WinXp in which "Send a Link" functionality has been degraded. Instead of creating an OE5.5 email with the linked webpage title in the Subject line and in the attached link, OE6 creates a non-descriptive subject line and link attachment with only the URL page name ("page123" versus "Descriptive title of webpage contents") and also adds the unwanted phrase "The message is ready to be sent with the following file or link attachments: Shortcut to:" before the URL in the body of the email. The question is how to regain the OE5.5 "Send a Link" functionality. Can OE6 be reconfigured with this functionality and/or can OE6 be uninstalled and OE5.5 installed in a WinXpProTablet environment? The workaround of dragging and dropping, copying, pasting, deleting, etc., is much more time consuming than the old "Send a Link" function. Alternatively, if it were the only way, would installing and switching to Outlook 2003 provide the functionality? |
