Default Error 80004005 On Starting Outlook

Hi, I tried reviewing many of the 80004005 threads here, but couldn't find
one that helped with my particular problem.

This is a new error for me (I've been using Outlook Express for years and
this just started happening).

I am using IE 6 (it looks like sp2) and Outlook 6 (sp2, I think).

Things I have noticed:

The error seems to occur when there is a new message in one of my IMAP
inboxes (I am unable to consistently reproduce this). I had one IMAP account
for years with no problem, but recently added two new ones; I may have
configured something incorrectly. The account setups appear to match the
original one. Furthermore, I've had the new IMAP accounts for a couple months
and this error is relatively new (although the new IMAP accounts have just
started to receive more mail).

Sometimes after the error occurs, new mail in my hotmail inbox is marked as
read after it is delivered. Again, not consistent.

Suddenly (as of last night), *some* new messages now appear with the half
envelope and do not download until I open them or until I click Send/Receive
a second time. These are messages to me only, so they are not bulk email nor
do they appear in the bulk email folder.

A while ago (well before this message started to appear), I had tried to
upgrade to Outlook, but I had so many problems with my IMAP accounts (i.e.,
mail not received or not sent), that I went back to using Outlook Express.

Actual error:

Configuration:
Account: Hotmail
Server: http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp
User name:
Protocol: HTTPMail
Port: 0
Secure(SSL): 0
Code: 80004005

If you have any thoughts or suggestions, I would appreciate it.

Default Error 80004005 On Starting Outlook

Just putting this update onto each of these threads...

I tried the KB fix below, but it did not work for me. Then two things
happened...right in a row, so I'm not sure which one fixed the problem:

1) My husband accidentally opened up MS Outlook on my computer (and there
was an old message in the outbox that was sent).

2) My virus software (Trend Micro) sent me an update that I installed.

One of those (or maybe the combination??) fixed my problem.

FYI. I hope this is helpful to someone else having this problem.
