For several months now, when I click on the Microsoft Internet Explorer or
Microsoft Outlook Express icons down on the lower bar next to the start button, it takes approx. 5 minutes before they start. I was told back then to clean my disk and defrag. I done that then and again today. I still have the same problem. I am running Windows XP with McAfee SecurityCenter and Webshots. Gotten from System Information was, XP Professional version 2002 5.1.2600 service pack 2. Pentium !!! Intel. Total physical memory 256 MB. Available physical memory 48.39 MB. My disk capacity is 12.63. I have 4.24 space free which is 33%. CTRL ALT DELETE brings up windows task manager. Some of the users are; Imagename Mem Usage MpCmdRun.exe 2,748 MSKSRVR.exe 6,512 Msdtc.exe 1,380 alg.exe 548 dllhost.exe 2,488 taskmgr.exe 4,940 mcshield 10,424 svchost.exe 8,188 MsMpEng.exe 10,470 CSRSS.exe 1,400 There is a total of 41 Imagename shows up and all are using some memory. Could this be my problem (too many things running in background)or dose anybody have any ideals? Thanks |
