Default Don't receive mail from pop3 sub-accounts

Got 2 sub-accounts under my main btopenworld account and accordingly 3
accounts defined in OE. There is no problem receiving mail from the main
account but mails from the 2 sub-accounts won't come through - unless I do a
little fiddling (which I rather not do)
The fiddling is: go to the btopenworld "my mail" page, open the inbox of the
sub-accounts (where all the incoming mail is nicely displayed), then back to
OE6 and receive them properly.
Have already deleted and recreated the OE - mail accounts of the 2 sub's but
to no avail.
Have got McAfee AV, privacy & firewall; have already tried with disabling
the firewall but that did not make any difference.

Do you get any error message in OE or does it just not seem to see the
messages?

Is this POP3 access? You may want to try recording a pop3.log which
will show more details about incoming mail.

To create an POP3.log In OE5+, go to Tools, Options, Maintenance,
Troubleshooting and check the Mail box.
You may need to close OE after doing the send/receive for the log to get
written to disk.
The log will be in the Store Folder which is listed in Tools, Options,
Maintenance, Store Folder.

Enable the log and try the receive before and after the fiddling.

Although from your description, it sounds as if your ISP isn't making
the messages available for download until view the subaccounts online.
Since the only fiddling you are doing is on the ISP web site, it doesn't
sound like the issue is on your end.

Got it!

On the "Servers" tab under incoming mail server, account I had my main mail
account name, not the sub-account name defined.
Changed that and everything is back to normal again.

Thanks all for your attention and advice!
