I keep OE6 on my primary computer but I'd like to be able to access my email from a secondary
computer but have all email downloaded stay in the original file on the primary computer. I don't want mail divided between two computers. How can I set this up? df |

If both computers are using the same e-mail address, on both machines:
Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced - Check: Leave a copy of messages on the server. On one machine, check to Delete messages after X days to assure the server does not get clogged up. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ wrote in message ... OE is not designed for such use. See
http://www.insideoe.com/faqs/why.htm#network However, you can configure OE as posted here and accomplish just about the same thing: http://groups.google.com/group/micro...4f1ebb7d24be4d -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) wrote: I keep OE6 on my primary computer but I'd like to be able to access my email from a secondary computer but have all email downloaded stay in the original file on the primary computer. If your ISP offers IMAP mail server access, that is the way to go. IMAP
is designed for a single mail account to be shared by multiple PCs. The IMAP mail is managed at the mail server. If your ISP doesn't provide IMAP support, an option is to run your own local mail server that accesses the ISP via POP3 and then provides IMAP support to your local PCs. For examples of such a programs, see: Mercury Mail Transport System http://www.pmail.com/overviews/ovw_mercury.htm Hamster "Classic" http://www.arcorhome.de/newshamster/...amster_en.html -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm wrote in message ...
