When I open Outlook Express I immediately get the "has encountered a problem
and will shut down" error message... and it does. Anyone know a fix for this problem that's not too technical? Any help will be deeply appreciated. Thanks BJ |

It's important to know the Details. When you get an "Illegal Operation"
or "encountered a problem" message, there is usually a Details button (In WinME press Alt/D), or a "click here" link to see the error report. When you click on the button/link, it will give a message like: XXXX caused an error in YYYY and a bunch of register nonsense or it will list the Appname XXXX and Modname YYYY. The XXXX and YYYY are important to identify the cause and solution. You can ignore the rest of the message. Also include operating system that you are using. Thanks Michael.
I followed the link you provided and what finally worked was I moved my store folder contents to a folder on my desktop which allowed Outlook Express to open. I then imported the files back into OL and put the store folder contents back where they were and I'm back up and running . Thanks very much forproviding me with a solution to my problem BJ "Michael Santovec" wrote: It's important to know the Details. From your description of what worked, it sounds like you had a corrupted
folders.dbx file. I'm glad you got it working. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "bjgobble" wrote in message ... Thanks Michael.
